So.....a well-meaning though not very...errm....smart, friend of mine goes to the store and buys me 20 dollars of cinnamon capsules because she's convinced that because some....grandmother's cousins hairdessers....umm whoever takes it and blah blah....

And of course I'm not stupid enough to screw around with this.....but it does say on the bottle that cinnamon aides in sugar metabilism and so....I'm curious.....has anyone ever taken cinnamon in this form? And if so, did it do anything for you?

Just kinda researching and being nosey today! :D

Maya, there are many discussions about cinnamon on this forum, you might want to check them out. I have added cinnamon to my breakfast for several periods of time, just to see if it made a difference. So far, not enough to matter. I have not tried the capsules. It can't hurt to experiment on your own.

cinnamon is the Tinkerbelle of Diabetes:::::::::

if you wish hard enough it'll work, but since it doesn't work, you didn't wish hard enough.

I haven't tried the capsules either, but when I used it for a few days at a time...I didn't really see any effects on my levels one way or another.

I'm sure this is another YMMV! :D

I tried eating it on food but it never helped. Perhaps I didn't take enough but I thought I was. Couldn't hurt for you to try, though. It might work for you.

My doctor when I called said, it was fine and that I wasn't likely to have any effects from it at all, but really he thought money had been wasted on it.....so I thought I'd experiment a little see what happens, just for kicks.

Took one of the capsules, ate like normal.....yesterday's BS 2 hours after the 30 carb meal I ate with it was 48, and I've been consistently getting a reading of 126 after this type of meal....i was so freaked out, it was my first hypo since diagnosis and it was so freakin scary i didn't stop completely shaking for 2 hours afterwards even when it had climbed back up to 91, I was still just blahh....

no more cinnamon for me....I'm apparently extremely sensitive to things, either that or there is something else in those capsules....sheesh!
