I have been interested in finding out what my warranty is exactly on my MM 715 Paradigm and If I can get insurance for it. MM tells me I must include it in my Home insurance, need I mention I no longer have it due to stupid reasons Statefarm canceled me. I is not non-payment or too many claims issues.
I do not have Homeowners insurance In the middle of Hurricane season... :thumpdown Woo-hooo!

Does anyone know what the usual warranty is on a MM pump?

Hi Cin, I have often wondered the same thing. I know that our 715 is not (supposedly) water-proof, but it seems they still supply a new pump if it is damaged by water. This morning I pulled a towel off the counter after a bath and heard a sickening thud. I thought it was my pump. Luckily, it was my wireless phone reciever, but wondered what would have happened if it were my pump that hit the deck. What does MM not cover with the warranty???

My sister called me and told me that she was charged DOUBLE for homeowners insurance because of the type of dog she owned. EEEEK. She has an OLD Siberian Husky. I had no clue. Made me thankful that I have Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. Homeowners insurance is getting really tough on people these days.

All pumps are 4 years from the date you recieve it (or they send it?, doesn't matter only a a few days difference there.) And according to jeggeman, it is covered under homeowner's insurance. But I would check with your homeowner's insurance when you get it to verify that.

My guess is they will cover anything unless they find out that you are dropping pumps all the time. They know that 99% of the people out there can't get a second pump. For them to repair a pump is only a few cents. They are just highly overpriced for some reason. So if you break your pump and can't afford a new one, then they lose you as a customer until your insurance pays for one.

Yes, depending on the community you live in some make you have higher liability insurance for a dog. The community I work in requires a homeowner to obtain $100,000 worth of liability insurance if they choose to own a dog that our community deems vicious. THe problem isn't the homeowner's insurance ripping people off, it's people that don't maintain the dog safely and it gets out and bits someone, then the homeowner has a large lawsuit on their hands pretty easily.

Without it there's nothing you can do. I don't think they allow just small insurance plans to cover the pump only. So basically don't lose it, break it, or get it stolen.

I don't think it's anything personal. I've seen stories of insurance companies having major rate increases and dropping coverage in hurricane prone areas. It looks to me like it stems from their desire to collect premiums while keeping the number of claims sent to them being kept as small as possible.

I live in Hurricane City!!! Miami, FL. So many people have lost their insurance, its really sad. Premiums have multiplied and people cant afford it. Its really disgusting!

I have only found that it is covered under Home Owners. I know you don't have any, when I called State Farm and asked them they told me it would be covered under Home Owners.

As for the pumps own policy, I have never heard of anyone having an insurance policy on just the pump.
