View Full Version : Wow Animas customer service rocks!

I called Animas today at 11:00a, talked to a rep within seconds, got in contact with my local sales rep 2 minutes later, and by 11:05a I have an appt with the rep for a demonstration and fitting of the 1250 at 5:00p today.

All I can say is my start with Animas customer service rocks!

I asked for a trial so lets see what happens. I know I will have to probably go to some type of training so lets see how long that takes.

Btw I still havent discounted the mm 722.
I want to see/experience both before I make up my mind on which one.
But mm wants me to wait for the insurance ok before we move foward.
Estimated wait time 1+ month.

Cool. Maybe they will leave the pump with you for a few days? The rep that came with a 1250 was leery of leaving one with me, until I offered to destroy all the tubing that fit the Animas that we had been playing with during the demo, so that I couldn't hook up to the Animas. It is illegal for them to give you a functioning pump without a doctor's RX.

I forgot to mention that my appt is in my Endo's office.

Spike, only if there is insulin in it. Otherwise it's considered a training device which does not require a prescription.

But if you already take insulin shots, you have insulin. When I wanted to do saline trials, I had to have a script for a saline trial. If the appointment is in the endo office, a script for a trial shouldn't be a problem.

Guess I didn't make myself clear. let me restate: the Animas rep was unwilling to leave a functioning pump with me, knowing I could easily hook up to it and pump INSULIN. Therefore, I suggested that we cut up the tubing that fit the animas reservoirs. I hope this adequately clarifies my earlier post.

Good news, Mids... Yeah, see which pump is best for you, then get pumping! New pump day is like a diabetic's Christmas!

The other nice thing about Animas was that even if my insurance wouldn't pay for a dime of the pump, they where willing to take installments as low as $50 a month to pay off the pump. I used to have a Minimed 508, but have loved my Animas IR1250 for over 2 years now!

I would imagine that would be $50 + a supply contract?

I'm glad you have such a positive experience with your rep!

I love the pump, but the rep for my area leaves much to be desired in the way of service. Whether this is because the person has too much work to return calls, or they just aren't doing their job, I'm not sure. I actually have a call in to Animas regarding it though, and hope to get a call back so that I can discuss my experience with them.

That's the way it is with any company; they are only as good as the person you are dealing with. I just had my first negative experience with a Verizon employee, so I called back and discussed my concerns with management, letting them know how pleased I have been with their staff and service, otherwise. They know who the culprit is, so I'm guessing he'll be called in to a closed door meeting to discuss his customer service "skills", or lack thereof. If we don't complain about negative experiences with employees, how is the company going to correct the problem, right??

We just had a good experience with Animas service too. 11:30 pm on a Friday night, last pharmacy in town closed, and we are in town just for one night in the middle of our cottage holidays so **stupid me** I brought along Aaron's back-up pens but have no long-term insulin in the house, and Aaron gets his first "No Delivery -- call service" alarm.

NOW we know what to do about that, but THEN I was afraid his pump had gone kaflooey and we would have to limp through the night using periodic rapid insulin injections or something... We called the 800 number, and a nurse called us back in 30 seconds. Walked us through a reboot and we were back in business.

I was really grateful not to have to wait and fret in the middle of the night.

Things have changed.

I thought the appt was going to be at my endo's office instead it is going to be at my home.
It could have been at the endo office but my schedule for tomorrow didn't allow time for the 45 minute ride.

It was going to be today but now it is tomorrow.

I can understand though. The rep is going to be in my area tomorrow anyway.

Still very impressive.
They called way before the scheduled time to let me know they were gonna be late then they called again only 20 minutes later to say that they werent gonna make it today.
Much better then leaving me hanging.

There was a problem with a current customer that required attention.
I sure would rather have someone in need get the attention they need rather then have my demo.

Shows their level of customer care.
Customers in need before sales.
I actually like that in a business. :)
