Question for Byetta Users

I've been on Byetta since April with good results. The best feature I like about it is the appetite reduction which makes it really easy to control what I eat and when. However, in the last couple weeks, my appetite has soared. Does the appetite suppressing symtom eventually go away like that? Or perhaps something else is going on? I have been a bit more active recently with school starting up.

I've been on Byetta since Aug 4th. Did the 5mcg twice a day until yesterday. Started the 10mcg yesterday. I haven't noticed anything. No upset stomach, no loss in appetite. However it has reduced my BS readings and well that's a good thing. It would be nice to have the other side effects as well. I've also noticed the 10mcg pen leaks alot after I dial it up. I'm wondering if I'm not getting the full dose in me. I may stick myself tonight first then dial it up and try.

You don't have any loss of appetite? Are you sure? Hehe. I could have sworn I didn't feel any differently until I went to the doc and saw I lost 15 lbs! Just wait a few weeks. That's how Byetta works. You don't even notice you're eating less because you just never get hungry! Although some people don't really get much off the 5 mcg pen. Maybe'll it will happen with the 10 mcg pen for you.

You're very lucky you haven't gotten sick!

When the pen leaks, is it after you take the shot or before? If it's after, you need to keep it injected for a few more seconds and hold the plunger down, then remove the injection and hold down that area of skin. Yes, we need to becareful with Byetta shots and leaks because the injection is such a small amount that every little drop helps.

If it's when you're just dialing up beforehand, you should call Byetta and request a new one. It shouldn't be leaking like that.

Thanks for the reply! I have to tell you this morning I was feeling good, but before lunch I did get sick. Ate a few bites of lunch, but still feeling a little woozie in the belly. I've ran out of test strips, I have to mail order them, I should get them today, I really want to see what my numbers are on the 10pen. I'm going to try the pen again tonight and if it still leaks like that I'll call the company. I always leave it in at least 10secs after. It leaks when I put the needle on and dial it up to get it ready.

I agree it's nice to see a Byetta user too:) It's so new to me! Nice to meet you too.

I have been taking Byetta since March. I have only lost 10 pounds. I also have found my appetite comes and goes. There are days I just seem to binge all day. But for the most part I like the results I am getting with the spit.
