I don't know what's going on with me but every now and then I feel yuck just in general. I woke up this morning at 5:00 a.m. with a blood glucose of 127. I began work at home and then went for a 15 minute walk since I was unable to get to the gym. That was around 7:30 a.m. I had eaten some Activia after getting back and thought that might be enough as I really did not feel hungry.

:vollkomme Around 11:30 I became sooo sleepy. I stopped working just for a few short minutes and laid down and dropped off to sleep. I was asleep for approximately 15 minutes when I got up and felt extremely weak. I took my BG and it was 108. I decided to go downstairs and get something to eat. I cooked some brussel sprouts (which I truely love). felt okay.

Again, at 1:30 p.m. I was feeling very weak so , I had a turkey on rye with mustard and some fresh spinach and a slice of Swiss cheese on it. I felt a bit better after about 30 minutes.

Now it's 4:20 and I'm feeling bad again!! What is going on? It seems that six weeks or so, I feel yuck and my BS level just keeps dropping. I just feel so weak. I wonder if I'm getting enough carbs. I am Type 2 and I use Novolog 70/30, 50 units twice a day, and Novolog Asparte, 16 units at lunch. I also use Glyburide/Metformin 5/500, twice a day.

For the past week and a half, I have had almost no appetite. I try to eat but I just don't want any food.:hmmmm2: I feel so weak.

Have you ever been tested to see if you might be type 1, LADA?

I used avoid eating for long periods of time also because when I ate I felt so bad.

But all that changed since pumping. Tonight I had a Steak and Broccoli and my BG is 124 hour later.

This great

Could it possibly be nausea due to the meds?

good thinking! metformin make me a wee bit nauseus at first too.

Question: Does anybody have a 'permanent' reaction to metformin? I reacted badly to the med when I started on it, after about 3 months things improved, but I often (like once/twice a week) feel vaguely nauseous. Been on metformin about a year now.

I too have periods when I feel dreadful. Usually, but not always, my readings are high at the time. The other day I felt not well at 4.9 but yesterday, although a very light headache was beginning I felt great at 1.9 - go figure!!!

I think I have just accepted (maybe wrongly!) that I am always going to have ups and downs with this rotten diabetes thing. Some days I feel better than I ever have before (I should I am eating all the good stuff now and not things that are bad for me) and then suddenly without warning, I feel horrible.

I am finding that I do need to follow a regular eating pattern, which definitely includes something like an apple mid morning or afternoon, going without anything between meals definitely does not help me.

I agree with what you are saying. There are times when I just feel totally bad for no apparent reason. I'm just glad I work at home and able to lie down when I feel the need. I never dreamed that 51 years of age I would need to do this. I have always been very energetic and never needed any extra rest, but this disease wears me out. 95% of the time I feel absolutely great...the other 5%....well, I'm beginning to wonder.
