that insulin smells like Chloraseptic Spray, the kind you spray your throat with to numb it.

I kinda always thought it smelled like a freshly opened band-aid.
We need to do a double-blind side-by-side focus group! :D

When Taylor was first dx'd, my mom wouldn't give her insulin b/c the smell reminded her too much of my grandmother who passed away. Funny how smells trigger memories. I can see both the cloraseptic (a little) and bandaids (a lot).

I'll second this thought - if my dogs won't sniff it, snuffle it and lick it, whatever it must be has gotta' be suspect. For pete's sake, any animal that finds pleasure in rolling in dead worms isn't exactly discriminating!

It's been over 20 years since I accidently dropped a vial, broke it, and actually smelled insulin. I just remember what I would call a sickly-sweet smell. I thought it odd that something that smelled so sweet would actually lower your blood sugar.

I've always thought it was quite a sterile smell.

I know I'm going to regrete asking this. But how often do you snack on Germoline? :vroam:

All the time. It's delicious, nutritious and low in carbs, so you can eat quite a lot of it without having to worry about your blood sugar. Makes an excellent subsitute for chocolate spread.

Smells just like Bandaides to me.
Buzzborne that is a very odd looking star in your avitar. I do not quite see the Paleo Hebrew initials of David in that one.

No, wait!
I have made an outstanding discovery!
I'm sure some of you are familiar with my obsession with jelly beans.
Insulin smells and tastes EXACTLY like the Root Beer flavour ones. I've just eaten one of those ones now and I was staggered.
