I was told by my Dr. Friday that I was a type 2 diabetic. I have had two labs this week. My sugar has been running into the 225-250 range and my A1C is 9.4. She put me on Glipzide XL 5 mg. once a day.
So far today I have eaten very modestly (no sugar, low carbs) and I have tested 3 times today and all of them have still been close to 250. Does this stuff work right away? she wants me to give it a week and then come back in for more lab work. should I be worried? what do I expect to see the rest of the week when I test. Any info on this medication would be helpful.
