We're bad about letting our white german shepherd Kaita eat people food. She's always turned her nose up at my artificially sweetened food----seems she's smarter than we are!

A quote from the link:
One dog who had to be euthanized had eaten four large, chocolate-frosted muffins containing about 1 pound of xylitol.
Those must have been some really, REALLY large muffins!!
My previous dog nearly died from eating baking chocolate which has a chemical in it in greater concentration than regular chocolate, which speeds up a small animal's heart to the point of killing them.
