oh, here's an idea... what about a "target range" for the diagrid?

It will be there, and min and max values can be set by each person.
I have so many graphs and reports to add it's not even funny. My insulin to BGL one will be out soon. It will have all the reports diabetics want.

By insulin-to-BGL graph, maybe I'm thinking too much, but what does that mean in your design? Are you plotting insulin along with the BGL graph? (I'm asking because I'm looking for attributes that might be of interest in a time event series).
I wish I could show you my Liveabetes system -- but you'd be annoyed because you'd have to plug in several days' worth of data to get anything visual from it, and if not that, you'd be annoyed with the random times when it's running. :bebored:
Ah, here! Attached is an example graph that I'm doing on my school work. Just wanted to share it here -- perhaps discussion about it could help with design ideas.

Very nice Jason!! What control are you using to plot your graph? I was planning on putting in a page that resembles that image a lot. The logo is very nice too.
I have a bunch of dynamic reports in mind, specifically around averaging, times of day, and all the other variables that are being captured right now.

Hi Brian,
I'm using a product called ChartDirector (for PHP) from an ISV. They also have very similar versions for Java and VB.Net. You can google them for a copy (the demo just pastes a small yellow message at the corner of each image). At first, it seemed a bit clunky to use, but after following the examples in the documentation, and using their forum, it really made sense.
After you see some of the graph examples on their site, you might drool a bit. The developer license is the least costly (less than one credit hour of school :bebored:).
The logo came out of a demoware program specific for creating logos -- I think it had a name like "3D Logo" (but not too sure on that). It was a demo, long since uninstalled, and so I just took a screenshot and fixed it down to a smaller size, and now I'm not able to think of the name. If you want to check into it more, let me know and I'll look on an old computer and see if I still have the original install file.
------------
I read on the other thread about problems with the database port being probed. (Hmm, sounds dirty). Can that port be closed to the world, so that the web server is the only address that can reach it? (Or change the port number to a non-standard port that is less frequently probed by port scanners?) My school changed its SSH ports to from 22, but they didn't tell me, so I thought they disconnected their computers all summer -- they said they did it to discourage probes.

I use dotnetcharting. It's the best graphing software I have ever used and I have used many, many java, .NET, and C+ graphing controls. The control is priced right and the documentation and support have been just incredible.
As for the probing - Yes I probably should change the port. Funny you should mention it as it was going to be the first thing I was going to do to fix the crashes, but since it was unrelated I haven't thought about it. I should probably change my unix boxes SSH ports too. While no one will guess my DB user name, root is already available for the probes.

It's going to be like comments on myspace lol. Just a place where people can leave you a message like a post it board.
May I ask why you don't use the diagrid anymore Stu? Is there any funcitonality you want or need? Just curious. I was excited to see you and Simon using it, besides me :). The detailed entry page is having a huuuuge haul over right now.
Also everytime I click to look at your blood sugars it gives me this:
The requested URL /btr.xls was not found on this server.

You rock Stu! :D
Sorry!!! If anyone else looks at your diagrid they will see it is yours. on the page if the ?diabuddy=Stuboy is left blank, which it is when you access yours, if will show my name, if it's not it will show the correct one. Sorry about that and will correct it ASAP!

so how far away are we from seeing the ultrasmart uploader!?
BriOnH
10-11-2006, 09:56 PM
Hopefully not to far :)
I am waiting for Shane to work his magic on it, but don't want to pressure anyone helping with the site. Including myself lol. Everyone that has helped, including you, I am sure has pretty hectic schedules and fitting in more work can be awfully challenging. I was working on the Ultra today and accidently erased all my meter data!! I tell myself to "not hit DMZ" so much, I did it and wiped it clear. I have another ultra though that i'll bring in tomorrow that's filled.

yup, on the data entry page the time will default to whatever your computers/phones clock is set too. That's in the next release.
Right on Stu! You are totally on top of this. I will add a feature too so you wont have to data enter pre/post meal labels, it will just be a checkbox.

I keep clicking it both logged in and logged out and it goes to Stu's for me. The one in his sig has some errors which goes to mine, but the one I posted above should work.
If it doesnt work for anyone can the please copy and paste the URL that is in their browser and the page they expect.
(I just tested on two seperate computers and LAN's too)
here is the link in Stu's sig.

Stu's link in his sig is broken.
The link I posted is the correction:
http://www.diabuddies.com/Diabuddy.aspx?Diabuddy=Stuboy
NOT
http://www.diabuddies.com/Diabuddy.aspx?diabuddie=stuboy
Stu mispessled the querystring parameter and didn't capatolize the D thus bringing people to my page.
Jedi,
Did you use the link in Stu's signature? If so he typed it wrong.

You out there Shane? That reminds me Stu, I need to set up Shane on my dev box. Going to do that right now. Last I checked it looked very promising.
The current one touch client Shane made works really well it just needed a few updates. Hopefully we can release that soon if the US isn't ready yet. The US is a HUGE task. Shane is the only person I am aware of that has been so close to completing this feat. I have read about many who have tried.
By then end of 2007 Diabuddies should be complete as a site. I am working on a Mobile / cell app right now for it. Eventually I hope to merge this wireless technology with pumps.

Just don't fall for greed and get all cocky on us anytime soon. We like you how you are and like the site how it is. We don't need 2 million advertisements or 10 emails a day.
I'm still waiting for the US protocol myself to truely enjoy the site.

I have people on here to keep me in check of that and pray I'd or team diabuddies never become that. I try to follow Tony's example. I do hope to make Diabuddis a stepping stone for me in my personal quest for a cure. I am hoping by age 45 this can be achieved. Personally i'd much rather have someone beat me to the punch but I am not going to sit on my butt waiting.
