Has any others in this forum ever had some bumps form on the palm of their hands? I have these two bumps on both hands right in the center of my palms. I was told by my endo. that it has something to do with the tendons and that diabetics are known for getting them. She also said that there is a chance that my fingers may lock up at some piont. Has anyone else had this problem? If it does lock up I was told that I will need some kind of injection to release them. I guess I was just wondering if this is a side affect from having diabetes. Any information that anyone has would be helpfull.

sounds like "trigger finger", but I had trigger finger 2 years ago and didn't have any bumps anywhere on my hands that I could see or feel. Injections don't work well for any diabetic who has trigger finger. Injections are used for non-diabetic patients only, according to my very sharp, well trained, and well respected hand doctor. Surgery is needed if the symptoms are debilitating, like mine was.

I have had six trigger fingers through the years and have never had any bumps either. Tried the cortizone injection once and that did not work. Surgery has been the best way for me to go every time.

Hello Pumpracer. There are many conditions that cause bumps
on the hands but the one that sticks out with your description is
Dupuytren's Disease/Contractures. Just 'google' it and the next
time you see your Doc, ask for the name to make sure. It could be
something else. It does occur with some Diabetics. Not sure of the
percentage.
No, I don't have bumps on my palms. (kow)Have enough problems.
Thanks. ;)
