I found the most amazing pasta in the entire world!!!!! It's called Carba-Nada. Made my Aldente Pasta. http://www.aldentepasta.com/carbanada/carbanada.html
I get it at my local Woodman's and I'm looking for anywhere else that might carry it too. It tastes like regular pasta, has the right texture, no after taste, no bitterness AND two hours after eating about a cup of it my BG was only 127!!!!!!! I did a definite happy dance!!!!!

I tolerate pasta pretty well. I noticed the carb count for a serving of the Carba-Nada is 24g of carbs (6g fiber) per serving. The regular angle hair pasta that I use has 23g of carbs (2g fiber) per serving. How much more expensive in the Carba-Nada?

Dreamfield's pasta is quite popular for the same reasons you gave.

You're lucky with pasta though I know you can bolus to count for it - I can't. I have to really eat right or I pay big time with my numbers. I don't tolerate pasta well at all so this is a real coups for me. I haven't tried (didn't know) about the angel hair thing. All other pasta is around 32 to 46 grams per serving. I figure I'm pretty good with this. It is pricier ($3.99 a bag) but I can enjoy it as a treat here and there and I really only eat about a cup (or less) at a sitting so it'll last me awhile.

I've heard that Spike, but I haven't been able to find it anywhere. I came across the Carba-Nada quite by accident yesterday at the market - couldn't wait to try it for dinner.

Thanks! I have my days. If there's one thing I've learned about this disease it's that it's a day by day thing. One day at a time...one meal at a time.....

Where do you get angel hair that's 23 grams of carbs in a 2 oz serving? The only angel hair I've found has the same bloody 42 carbs per 2 oz that all other pasta seems to.

I finally found Dreamfield's pasta and reading the box I was totally perplexed. The carbs for a 2 oz serving are 42, the same as regular pasta! What makes it so good if it's the same carbs?

Fiber should be counted from the carb count... :ridinghor

Dreamfields claims that most of the carbs (37 grams) are not digested, hence effectively has only 5 grams of digestible carbs. I tried it once, and my numbers went way high, so I haven't gone back. Others have had better experiences.

I would like to know what an "indigestible carb" is...

I have no idea what they man by "indigestible carb". I don't have good luck with regular pasta, but I have tried Dreamfield and had good luck. I did make lasagna with it. I used my regular recipe and Dreamfield. I had good results.
I did find that you have to cook Dreamfield Pasta a little more than usual.

I tried dreamfields last night. They claim 40+ carbs in 2 oz of dry pasta (same as my usual "regular" pasta) but only 5 are "digestible". I have gotten pretty good at calculating my dosages when I eat pasta. I was 153 before dinner, ate and did my normal routine. 2 hours later I had climbed to 210. Took my correction (goal of 100) and four hours later I was up to 282. Took another correction and my lantus before bed. This morning was still at 229.
If I add up my dosage at dinner and my correction factors, it comes out to be almost exactly the dosage I would have taken if I had eaten my usual pasta and I still would have been high.
I don't think I really believe the 5g claim. But, it does taste great!

That's why I stick with the Carba-Nada. 23 grams in a 2oz serving and two hours later my BG was 121.

The only store I've seen it in is Woodman's in IL. You can go to the Carba-Nada website and get their phone number to call them and find out where else they might sell it.

I assume you are refering to Carb-Nada. But I'll say this anyway. While it didn't do anything for me, dreamfields is available all over.

I've been using Dreamfields pasta for some time. I know it says 42g of carb (with 37g digestible) and to only count 5g. Well, that's bull hockie. I did that once and my BS went through the roof as well. I calc 42g for 1 measured cup of cooked pasta BS before I ate 119, BS 2 hours after I ate 101using a normal bolus. It took me some time playing around with the carb numbers but I think I figured it out. I found the Rigatte, Spaghetti and Elbow Macaroni at Krogers.

wheat bread, is indisgestible, it doesnt go into the blood stream like white bread, yes most white breads/pastas etc may be about the same carb count and to the naked eye normally be just fine and dandy, but for people like us, the more whole grain you eat
1. you have regular bowel movements
2. it doesnt hit your blood stream like regular stuff
3. your glucose levels shouldnt go up as much
this is what i was told by the dietrician the other day
however... i love macaroni and tomatoe juice and i fix regular creamette brand, as long as i limit my portions/carb intake, most people would be fine, my numbers were decent, but i was still high from being newly diagnosed... ill try it again in a few days to see how it works after my numbers have been better

My wife bougth the carba-nada a few weeks ago. It was on sale for $2.99. She bought 4 bags. We made chicken with alfredo sauce for the noodles. Alfredo sauce is low in carbs.. my numbers were fine after and I had a cup and a half.
