Hi. A person I know from South America has a granddaughter with T1 diabetes who is following her regular insulin treatment. He heard about some person in Alberta, Canada who treats type 1 diabetes (and many other conditions). I talked to this person and told me she is a herbalist. She basically tries sequentially different preparations until she gets results. This didn't make a lot of sense to me, but I'd like to hear opinions about this. This person is considering the possibility of bringing her grandchild to Canada for a try, which would be tremendously costly for the family and a big effort for the child.

Thanks

You want opinions? OK, here goes:

1. It's ****.
2. It's BS
3. It's snake oil
4. don't waste our time; we've no patience with this sort of thing here.

Thank you.

what is the matter with you? I was just trying to get good arguments to help this guy not to get into trouble. but don't worry, I'll stay away from this place. There are friendlier places around.

I would not be that harsh. Altough I would have serious reservations on entrusting someone's health, especially a child to any unproven treatment.

We are friendly, but we do NOT advocate useless treatments! You won't be missed, believe me! oh, and, no, there AREN'T any more friendly places for diabetics than right here. You just aren't discussing the sort of topic we care to waste our time and energy on. ie it's YOU, rather than ME that's the problem here...

Relax Streblo. Spike wasn't trying to be mean, he was trying to save you time and energy. Food and herbs do not cure type one, period. There is so much misinformation about diabetes, especially type 1. Most of us have heard so much **** that is frustrating to think of people being taken advantage of. PLEASE tell this family not to waste their time. Do you have the contact info for this women? She should be put out of business.

Before anyone gets too excited. Mr. Streblo was here to promote a web site, you see the four links in his signature I modified. The post itself was a smokescreen and I am closing this thread.

Sorry! Guess when I banned him the forum removed his siggy.
