Hi, Tricia!
Hmmm...too bad there's no search feature on members, by location.

You are true to your word! You are posting!!

Hi!

Well you have found one - I am in Jersey City.
I also know of another person with T1 fairly close to me through another site. I am willing to bet that there are plenty of us!

Where in NJ are you? I don't really know my way around yet (only moved here a few months ago from Australia) so I am familiar with Jersey City, Hoboken and NY mostly.

I'm in NYC, and also never met any other diabetics. Recently I found the Meetup site Meetup: World's largest community of local Meetups, clubs and groups! (http://www.meetup.com/) and joined two local diabetes groups. The Type 1 group had its first meetup a few weeks ago, and it was nice meeting other diabetics. You can search and see if anyone has started a diabetes group in your area. If not, you can always start one yourself.

I live in Bridgewater. Where I worked a few years ago there were 2 guys that sat near with diabetes. We used to have contests to see who had the best A1c!

Not from NJ now, but lived there for 3 years--in Ocean Co. My husband and all his family are from Pt. Pleasant and Brick Town. Way back when--early 70's I taught one year at Toms River H.S. and one year in Brick. I am sure there are a lot around, hope you get some replies soon. There may be a support group in the area--check your local hospital or your endo and see if they have any information. Good luck. By the way, loved NJ and still visit often--it was just that KY was home for me and we came back here.
