Well May of this year I got back on the wagon and started caring for myself by injecting insulin then Pumping with an Animas 150 Pump on 7-24-06. Here are some Number from 5-20-2006 and new number as of 9-28-2006.
Cholesterol 252 05-20-2006 :fight:
Cholesterol 218 09-28-2006
Triglycerides 670 05-20-2006 :toilet:
Triglycerides 190 09-28-2006 :deal:
HDL 29 05-20-2006
HDL 34 09-28-2006 This one is hard to get up over 55 as I was Told
LDL 160 05-20-2006
LDL 146 09-28-2006
GLUC MG/DL 494 on the Day of Test 05-20-2006 :banghead:
GLUC MG/DL 138 on the Day of Test 09-28-2006 :nurse:
A1C 11.4 05-20-2006 :banghead:
A1C 8.2 09-28-2006 :driver:
Well I posted some numbers and I believe they are headed in a positive direction. I would really like to get that HDL up above 55. I could not believe my Triglycerides at 670 do they really go that high? Down to a 190 is a positive move.
I started taking "OilSmart" By Renew Life with Omega 3 - 6 - 9 in the beginning of June 06 this also brought my Blood Pressure Down from being dangerously High to a cool 128/76 a miracle. I take 2 a day.
Also doing "Garden of Life's" Primal Defense HSO Probiotic Formula 2 Tablets a day.
And of Course Pumping Insulin Novolog Animas 1250 Pump.
Do you guys think these are a positive move? I felt like I was at Death's Door in May of 06, no energy and just plain sick sick sick.
I now enjoy very good energy and have positive feelings about life in General. I believe registering on this forum has made the difference and I would like to thank each and every one of here.
Lets see what December's numbers will be.

I'd say that is a pretty dramatic improvement from a few months back. GOOD JOB! I agree that a few of those numbers could be a bit better, but I bet you get there by December!
Glad your feeling better and keep going! :wavey:

That is excellent! :congrats:
Try healthy fats to get the HDL up. Things like nuts, avocados, olives, olive oil...

Thank you all. Has anybody ever heard of having such high Triglycerides such as 670?
I have read that:
Insulin resistance is associated with atherosclerosis (fatty buildups in arteries) and blood vessel disease, even before diabetes is diagnosed. That’s why it’s important to prevent and control insulin resistance and diabetes. Obesity and physical inactivity are important risk factors for insulin resistance, diabetes and cardiovascular disease. (Arterial Scurvy)
Vitamin C is said to bring these numbers down?

Yep I have heard of Triglycerides higher than 670, Mine came in for my last reports at 1460  ... My family history has alot to do w/ it. my total cholesterol was 275... and my poor HDL was only 39.. so guess what the LDL was.. LOL
When my triglycerides do come down to your level I will do a little jig :marchmell
GREAT JOB on your improvements.. KEEP IT UP!

You're not the only one with high triglycerides...I was hospitalized with numbers over 10,000 in 2004. Yeah...that visit lasted about 3 weeks. lol :-

Great job! Congratulations on your results. My cholesterol is marginally bad, so I'm taking flax seed oil for it. We'll see if it's working with my upcoming lab work.

Rikki,
"OilSmart" By Renew Life with Omega 3 - 6 - 9 three capsules in the morning.
This attacks the problem on a couple of different fronts not the least inflamation.
If you want to get it down quick and fast Cod Liver Oil one tablespoon in the morning and one in the evening before bed. Taste Awful but it kicks literal Cholesterol and Triglyceride Donkey (A**). This remedy is a Miracle but make sure you get it certified free of Mercury and Heavy Metals Please, Please. Garden Of Life makes the best.
Pure Vitamin C Crystals 2500 Mg morning 2500 Mg Evening in a glass of Distilled water.
I was loosing weight fast maybe is why my Triglycerides were high. Going into DKA I bet. Making me sick.

That is a big drop! Triglycerides are closely linked to what you have been eating. Did you reduce your alcohol and/or carbohydrate consumption? :)

My reason for the question above is because I'm allergic to all sea products. Fish, shellfish, fish oils, etc. If I want to commit suicide, that's the best way for me...I'll be dead in a matter of minutes. :( This is why I'm using the flax seed oil. It's in a capsule form, which is good for me since I have a nasty gag reflex on most liquid "medications".

I'm sorry the OilSamrt does contain Fish oil along with Borage and Flax and Lipase.
I bet when my Triglycerides were that high I was loosing weight and fast. I was not taking any insulin then I started taking it in a 70/30 mix then onto pumping in July.
They say if your loosing weight that way it was not good. I bet DKA ing.

BlueSky I do not drink. I would probably bennifit from a good dark beer or a glass of very dark red wine everyday but I don't.
I tend to like things that are not good for me as in the above.
My diet has changed a bit.
No more milk of the grocery store shelf.
Only Goats Milk
Tried restricting carbs as much as I could but still cave in once in a while.
I bet I could stop insulin and loose weight like crazy. But I won't.
