My son's test results finally arrived today. He has absolutely no genetic mutation for MIDD. The doctor said to give him benadryl. Tonight I'm happy. Tomorrow...heads are going to roll.

That is great news. Why did they suspect the hearing problem?

They thought that he had hearing problems because he's been talking quite a bit louder than usual. And then to make things worse he'd CONSTANTLY clear his throat or say HA, just to hear himself. After all the difficult testing and blood draws, we ended up at a family practice getting allergy medicine and antibiotics for a sinus infection. It really hasn't helped a whole lot, but it's only been a day, so I'm just waiting. The noises he's been making are about to drive me insane. But the weird thing is that I heard that when you get sick your numbers are crazy to deal with. Vincent's numbers have been in the 80-130 range for 3 days straight. Nothing higher, nothing lower.

Any chance this could be a tic?

My son started with throat clearing noises. He did it so often I was worried that he had some ongoing throat / ear problem... turns out he has a mild form of tourettes.

It's probably not that for your boy, but I'm just throwing the idea out there in case it hasn't been looked into.
