Just wondering if anyone else has ever had burst blood vessels in their fingers. I have what looks like bruises on two of my fingers, one is right on the knuckle. They are blue in the area, the one on the knuckle has started to turn a little purple, and feels like jelly underneath. The other finger is still blue, turning a little on the purple side, and a bit swollen. Just wondering if this is my new normal thing to look for. (I was diagnosed with Type 1 2.5 years ago.)

Thanks,
Tyna

I sometimes get something like that but it is usually right in the area where I prick my finger and will clear up within a few days. It's pretty rare, though.

Busted many blood vessels over the years.

The area where it happens swells, turns blue then purple and then as the swelling goes away, the color returns to normal.

I generally get what you are describing when I have wrung out wet clothes or a dish cloth.

It usually goes away after a while. Its a bit alarming while its there though.

Thanks everyone. The sites did swell before they turned blue...it was so wierd, there was no impact or injury. My knuckle just started to swell, then a couple hours later, my finger started to swell. The finger hurt more than my knuckle. Glad to know that it's not serious, and that I can expect it to clear up on it's own.:marchmell
