23.75 years for me. If you want exact time then it is 8679 days. If I were a vehicle in our impound lot I would cost $104,148 to remove. LOL
****I used our impound lot calculator for the days****
January 18, 1983 is my diagnosis date. Born February 12, 1982.

Monday, April 27 1987. My birthday is in October and I was 19 1/2 when I was diagnosed. I just turned 39, and I've now spent half my life with diabetes. I definitely still remember (fondly) how nice life was without it.

And to think that when you were diagnosed, your life expectancy would have been about 20 more years . I remember the Doc telling me if I would take care of myself I could live even into my 50's.
28 years 3 months for me. Dx at age 24.
About 16 months, so not too long, thus still freaking out.

I have been living with diabetes for 31 years and I have to say I feel very lucky to have been diagnosed at 2 years old. I always remind myself that there are much worse things in life that I could suffer from and that I have full and complete control over diabetes.
I still remember getting my first glucose monitor. Ah standing over the Ames death star machine watching a clock and having to press the test button. Things have gotten so much easier. I recently (2 years ago) switched over to Lantus and I have loved the results but I am meeting with a new Endo to possibly make the big leap to the pumping. I am a bit nervous but ready for a change.
Dx'ed in February 1966, at the age of 13, so 40 years, 9 months and still going strong!

D'x Feb, 1992, 8 months after my oldest son was born. As much as I don't want this disease, it was well worth it. My sister was d'x 4 months after me and feel that if I didn't go through what I did, she wouldn't have known and end up much sicker. So well worth every thing I went through.
