I live in London and am overweight and have type 2 diabetes
I don't get enough exercise
try not to eat anything sweet but like diet coke and still alas smoke.
:ridinghor
I try to keep on top of it all
Quite often don't feel too healthy and worry about my kidneys.
This is just a bit of me.
Best wishes to all.

See, you already doing one thing correctly and that's without even trying. I know you'll get better as you decide where I try to keep on top of it all

Just discovered this site and thanks for your encouragement.
I am running scared but doc only smiles when I say I want to avoid dialysis and am scared about losing my toes and nerves. My feet and ankles swell and even when I sleep with them raised on pillows they are not much reduced in size when I wake. Oh vain female that I am this is poetic justice as I was always proud of shapely legs and slender ankles. I guess I lived as if no tomorrow and now at 60 almost tomorrow came.
Keep smiling and thanks for being here on the world wide web.
I might be BrerRabbit but I don't want to get stuck to the tar baby of kidney damage.

Hi Brer, :hello: You're Very Welcome here. Well, if you are
concerned about your kidneys, then it's not too late to start
looking after them. They can still last some good yrs. Getting
away from sweet foods and drinks is great and eating smaller
portions of food.
I'm sure you've heard that drinking 6 to 8 glasses during the day
is good to help flush your kidneys and rid your body of some sugars
and other toxins. :hmmmm: Has your Dr. put you on a diuretic? I
don't know much about them but I believe they are used by people
who retain water. It could bring some of the swelling down. I'm
sure you and your Dr. has discussed that.
As far as exercise there are many easy things to do like dancing to
fast music, skipping, jumping jacks, just bending up and down at the
waist and from side to side, etc. Anything that moves you would be
Great. Best to Ya. :)
