I've joined the Dark Side. Soon to be equipped with a Minimed 722 in dark smoke.

Kicking and screaming I went, but I took the plunge like the other 80% of the insulin pumpers in the US.

Hopefully some new players emerge in the coming years that will move development of newer and better products into high gear.

I should have the new pump by Wednesday.

Hopefully it works out, because if not, I'll be using my old Disetronic pumps for another 4 years until I qualify for another pump again.

Gawd...I feel like Darth Chef at the end of the South Park episode when he was being rebuilt into his evil form.

When you started out,"dark side" I was sure to read that you had purchased an Animas. LOL!.

Have fun. It will be an early Christmas for you.

Enjoy your new pump :)

I sure hope I do!

As much as I liked Disetronic, change and exposure to new things is a good thing. What I REALLY loved about the Disetronic, was how quick it was to do what I wanted it to do. Set changes were fast since I used pre-filled Lilly Cartridges, all the commands were in a flat menu hierarchy which made it insanely fast to navigate, and in the 7 years years I pumped with them (Htron & Dtron) the ONLY times I had to send a pump back was when I once accidentally overtightened the batteries on the Htron, and the annoying but persistant issue of the silicone guide rings falling off. I never had a mechanical or electronic error, and I wanted to make sure I never get one. I also have a large supply of Luer Lock infusion sets that I didn't want to go to waste.
