Okay, this post should make Dad (aka Spike!) happy...
I spoke to my educator again today, and we are rescheduling for my pump therapy to start in TWO WEEKS!!
Okay, so its 3 weeks later than it was supposed to be, but it's better than nothing at all!!
I can't wait!!

It will be an early Christmas for you, Kit! Glad you are back on the schedule! I hope you get the opportunity to go over some pumping materials before your pump arrives.
If you can, get a copy of Pumping Insulin (John Walsh) and give it a reading or two.

That's great news. It's a great tool to help you reach your goals. Of course, you get out of it what you put into it (literally and figuratively) and it takes some time to get your rates set at first, and later, and so on. It's a lot of work, but better control is the payoff.
With all that said . . . I think you'll do great.
Get the 'Pumping Insulin' book - it's the best.

How exciting! It must feel like an early Christmas, the present under the tree and having to wait to start playing with it.
Best luck!

That is really cool that you finally get to try out the pump. Best of luck with it - i hope it helps you (i've read all about your adventures so far on here and RC and it sounds like you need some good luck).

Awesome Jade! Ur an Aussie moved to the US, right?? When do u start??
I have a question for everyone now...
I am 5'5", and will be wering my pump either on my waist or in my bra (depending on what I'm wearing). I was wondering what length tubing people would reccommend, coz I have absolutely no idea. I'm not a restless sleeper unless my bg is high, so getting tangled in the tubing is not an issue. The only thing I would be worried about is getting it pulled out during a netball game or babysitting.
Any thoughts guys??

Hopefully in the next week or two - the pump will arrive on Friday!
Are you starting to get really excited? I am, although to be honest a little bit scared also.

Who's tubes you using?, Ask your rep for a couple of samples. Being a child, my son uses the small Medtronic tubes (as recommended by the educators), but I asked the Animas rep for a sample and she said no problem. Do the rounds of the set providers, they will be amenable, after all they are going to make a lot of money from you.

Um, believe it or not, I dont remember, and I've already sent my order form into Diabetes Australia... Thanks for the advice though, I'll give the reps a call.
