I have been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes since last May. I had been diagnosed as being glucose intolerant for a year previously. My weight was around 102 kilos and stupidly I did not try and lose weight until the diabetes had been confirmed. I have since lost around 13 kilos and my sugar levels have dropped and generally read well below 7 but every now and then they jump up to 8 or 9.
The only medication I am on at the present time is Fosinopril to reduce blood pressure, Lipitor to reduce cholesterol and low-dose aspirin.
On the last HBa1C, I was under 6.5 and my cholesterol was 2.5
I am trying to get my weight down even more as I feel much fitter without that access weight to carry around, besides which it is keeping my sugar levels to an acceptable level without medication.
I found this forum a couple of weeks ago and read many of the posts so thought I would register. It's comforting to know there are others about with the same condition.
