Hello, All,
My name is Carolyn, and I was diagnosed with T2 in June. I'm afraid I was afflicted for several years prior... I am 54, and a 10 yr survivor of colon cancer. I am currently taking 1000mg of Metformin at night. My BG runs from a fasting count of 110-120 to 140-170 2 hours after eating. I am anxious to see my doctor in November to see how he views my progress. I can certainly tell the difference in the way I feel now that I am dieting and exercising. I'm looking forward to being a part of the discussions here.

Hey Caroline, welcome aboard. Sorry to here about your diagnosis but glad to here you are taking control.

Welcome, Carolyn! These first few months are really important, as you learn what you can eat, and in what amount. The important thing is to keep testing, which it sounds like you're doing. You'll get this figured out soon enough. Just keep on keeping track of how you react to various meals, and adjust accordingly. Perversely, turning your life into a science experiment can be kind of interesting. Just keep up the good work.
