Hi

I am trying to get pregnant, and I am very anxious thinking about the hopefully oncoming pregnancy combined with my diabetes. Please, someone tell me about your experiences! My doctor says that everything should proceed as normal since my HbA1c is 5,6% and my bg readings are great. Still, I just can not stop worrying about this issue.

For the record, I am on the pump.

If you're on a pump then no worries. :) I'm a T1 and have had 5 children. They do want you to check your bgs more often, like I was testing 15 times a day at one point...

The only thing that they want you to watch for is having high bgs since that can cause the baby to be too big. I guess I had really good control, since all of my kids were less than 7#4oz. :)

I did tend to eat better when I was pregnant... that was a good thing. Good luck TTC!!!

It seems like you have great control, which is extremely important while pregnant. Other than that... I think if you are in contact with your diabetes medical team & are under their supervision, and do what you can do to stay healthy- you (and the baby) should be okay.

Best of luck :top:

Thanks for the response. I looked at that site yesterday, and I found a really educating story. I still feel nervous though. This morning before breakfast my bg was 210 even though it was 125 when I went to bed last night. I do not why this happened, and so I fell a tear while thinking awful thoughts. But I am okay now :) .

U seem to be in perfect condition for your baby. I was not on a pump, and it went well. No comlications. Its normal to worry..... I do that 24/7.. lol. I am sure that U will be FINE!

Don't worry you should have a great outcome.
When I got pregnant it was a surprise so during the first 7 weeks my control was suboptimal. I went to my cousins wedding & drank gallons of champayne!
I soon got my act together once I found out & had a perfectly healthy baby.
Good Luck
