i was thinking (maybe someone who knows more about this can confirm) the use of foam pipe insulation may help if cut to size it has the hole aready in it and u can cut it to size. i just don't know if the inside diameter is big enough. can anyone confirm my thoughts. because i was searching everywhere and no one sells them anymore. moreover the insure insulin vial protector does not accomidate lantus vial due to being taller and more slender.

Have you got a carpeted room where you could handle your insulin? There is no need to refrigerate the "working" bottle(s).

I drop mine, too. Now I keep them in the opened box (as a sort of cradle) when moving between the refrigerator and counter. I've dropped the box many times, and it pads the impact.
