NO Delivery??

I just had my pump alarm me with the NO DELIVERY message. I cleared it, unhooked, and bolused to see if it was delivering, and it was.

When u say it was delivering, do you mean through the tubing, but NOT through the set, into your body? If so, you should change your set, ASAP. Cannulas can kink, and even metal needles can clog.

I love cinnabons. Talk about pumping up the insulin! WooHoo! Here come the sugars!

I hate No Delivery errors. Spike was right. That means you aren't getting any insulin into your body due to a kink in the canula. Sometimes I can get them to work themselves out but trying to bolus a couple times but if the error continues time to rip out the site and try again. Sometimes it can be as simple as a kink in the tubing but usually it is something in the site itself.

Time to change that site.

IF it is a cannula type set, it's possible it is kinked and the insulin will seep out of the entrance hole in your skin and pool under the adhesive, unnoticed until you remove the set. I suggest you change both tubing and set to avoid a possible lack of insulin delivery into your body. I've had this happen at least 4 times this year. The alarm doesn't sound because there isn't sufficient back pressure to trip it. But the insulin doesn't make into your body--it leaks out around the whole because the cannula's tip is pointed towards the surface.

As Spike said, I'd change things out, just to be safe. It's uncertain whether the issue may lie in the tubing, set itself, or just the way you were sitting. Better to be safe...

I have had it happen with the MM and the Cozmo, and it usually means that either a blockage has been detected (as Cozmo, on occasion, tells me) or that something is wrong with the set itself.

Ask the queen of pump mistakes! I have had this happen. The last time it happened I had clipped the pump to my pants and caught the tubing in the clip. sigh........ why can't I be normal?

It's happened to me too, Cinnabon. Usually the tubing is kinked or as Nancy mentioned, the tubing gets caught on the clip and the insulin isn't flowing properly.

Cinn... glad you caught that before it got worse- that could be a bad situation, as we know :eek:.

Anyway... hopefully now things are back to normal & going w/o a hitch (no pun intended) :D.
