I am having a trend where the evening to night time basal rate .80u/hr which is currently keeping me stable most of the day is dropping me after 9p.
Tested by 1hr interval basal test.
I am dropping by 20pts per hr at that time.
Is this insulin sensitivity change normal?
Also wondering what the basal profile of some of the people on here looks like.

My ISF is lowest in the morning and highest in the evening. If you can repeat the test results, perhaps a modification to your basals is in order. I make my basal changes approx 2 hours before I need them to take effect.

My lowest basal of .600 runs from 8 PM to 3 AM. Then at 3 AM mine jumps to .850 for my DP. It is a good idea, as Cyborg suggested, to do the same basal test on several days to make sure it is not just one odd night, before changing. And I also change the rate 2 hrs before I want it to take effect.

Changing basal rates during the day is quite normal. I have 6 changes throughout the day. Lowest in the mid morning to lunch and highest in the early morning for my DP. Not only are changes during the day normal, there are folks who have a "weekend" setting to adjust their basal rates to their normal weekend activity level vs their work week. Your DE or your pump nurse should be able to give you some help by reviewing your data and making changes based on it. After tweaking it a bit you'll get used to what to look for and how far in advance you need to make the adjustment to head off high or low.
Good luck!

Could I suggest that you not worry about what others basal rates are and pick the one that suits you. Everyone is different and insulin affects everyone differently, so figure out with you doctor or nurse what the basal rates should be at the different times of the day and adjust accordingly. If your sugars are dropping at night reduce your basal until you get it right. - All the best in your endeavours.

I was thinking about this for a couple nows now. It seems that once I get my basals down, my insulin to carb ratios are the same throughout the day. :hmmmm:

I was interested in others basals cause I was wondering what a final product could look like.

Thank you.
Gives me a good idea of how much work is involved in figuring these rates out.
