Any Pumpers here use Medco? I'm having a hard time finding a supplier that my insurance likes. They have teamed up with MEDCO for all the drugs. I can't tell if they carry infusion sets and reserviors or not. Of course I can't tell if they have syringes and the like either. I'm waiting to hear from them as I have asked MEDCO the question directly, but I thought I'd see if anyone in the real world gets their supplies from these guys.

FYI, I'm looking for Medronic supplies and my insurance is United Healthcare. UHC says medtronic is out of network as is Focus Pharmacy. Out of network means $2000 deductible! Of course open enrollment for me starts next week, so maybe I can get a better plan. We'll see.

Thanks!

I get my humalog, test strips and other non-pump supplies through medco. I pay $90 every 3 months for 15 bottles of humalog and $90 for 900 strips.

I have to get my pump supplies through minimed and pay $50 copay for 120 days worth.

I get strips and novolog through Medco, but they don't have pump supplies. I get pump supplies from Edgepark.com or Animas, or from Smith's direcetly.

I can't tell if they carry infusion sets and reserviors or not.

I'm using UHC / Medco also.

For Smith's Medical (Cozmo) the infusion sets and cartridges are sent from Smiths to me and they bill UHC, not Medco. I believe MM is the same. Medco provides test strips and insulin.

If your company has multiple plans, make sure to do the numbers and figure out how your planned expenses map to the various plans. What sounds like a good plan may not work out once you run the numbers. Our company has 3 UHC options and it took an hour or so with Excel to figure out the best choice.

Yeah. I plan to crunch all my numbers. I heard from MEDCO today and they claim they do indeed carry the medtronic supplies. My problem thus far is that with minimed, UHC considers them out of network and won't cover anything until I meet my $2000 deductible each year. I'm also trying to figure out what BCBS covers as I also have coverage through them.

I am in the process of beginning to pump and I have BCBS of Michigan. My pump supplies will come from Animas and they then get 100% payment from Northwood under Durable Medical Equipment. I get my insulin from Medco and my strips from a local DME provider. All of these come in three months supply and I pay a $5 copay only for the insulin. Good Luck
