Ok,

I just wanna know if im being too tight with my targets. I get wound up with myself when I test and I dont read within my target ranges.

My personal target range before and after meals is 4.0mmol/L - 7.9mmol/L (72mg/dl - 142.2mg/dl)

My premeal target is 90-110

Post meal? - haha. I seldom shoot a bullseye.

I attempt to stay between 5/90 and 6.7/120 at all times.........period.

Two reason for doing so:

1. I like all the body parts I currently have and I like the way they work.

2. I Hate being above 7.7/140, I hate the way I feel, see, think(actually, not think) and move.

that being said

each of us has to find the range that works best for them...........period.

oh yeh, i agree everyone is different, I just wanted to get an idea of the sort of rangers people try to work between. It seems that people have a much tighter target range than I do right now...

ah, Stu, when I was on MDI a pre-meal target was of no use to me. I bounced around so much for 18 years, I was happy if I was between 90 and 150. Pumping changes your expectations AND your results.

See, that's part of the Charm of Diabetes. What works for X, Y and Z may very well not work for you. I eat pretty much what I want when I want, make sure to cover very well and the worst A1c I've had was 5.9.

I mean, sometimes I go crazy and scarf down a whole pan of brownies in a week-end, but as long as I cover correctly..............5.9 has been the worst.:dontknow:

That's why I believe that each of us has to work with our PCP and get the range that lets us live the best and still enjoy life.

The target on my pump is 82 +/- 3. Late evenings and night time, my target changes to 90...

Good for you! I would be high as a kite after that...and taking correction boluses every few hours just to get down to 140!

I'd need additional insulin for the next day if I did that!

My goal is officially 120. But I personally dropped it to 100. I'm a pretty goot shot at the range, but not when it comes to those targets!

I usually try to stay between the 90 and 130 range. Usually do a decent job of it but splurging on certain things will cause me to shoot sky high and take a bit to bring it back down. Had my first experience with chinese food last night *normal size helping they give out* Yea not doing that again anytime soon lol. About 4 hours later I checked my levels and it was 180!!! shot myself up with 2 units immediately lol. Woke up to a fasting bg of 120 so I was a little happier. Guess when I eat chinese I should just automatically take my regular dose of mixtard and 2 units of correction insulin off the bat lol.

70-120 mg/dl from 9pm - 9am and 100-180 mg/dl during the day.

Dont get me wrong... im not trying to "match" anyone else, or set my targets by what everyone else does. Im just interested to find out what other people's target ranges are.

I'd say 80-120. I start feeling cranky under 80 and bad over 130. So far I can always tell when I'm over 130 because I feel awful and it saps the energy right out of me.

I'm on MDI like you. My target before meals is 110, but I can live with anything from 70-130. Post-meal, 140-160....anything lower than 140 and I have to eat to avoid a hypo. Bedtime, currently 150 because I'm still dropping 50 points at night. It's like a craps game, it seems. Some of them I've got nailed down, some need work!

My target is between 4 and 8. But Im basically happy if I stay under 10. And get worried if I get over 15
