I am a newbie at this and I wanted to see if anyone had any recommendations for Palm or PC software for tracking my bg levels.

I think statdeac may have a freestyle tracker. Why not get in touch with him and see if he can help. Don't tell him I told you. This recording will destroy itself in 5 seconds . . . .

lol lg!
Gunner, I have the DiabetesPilot software on my PDA. It's a good one; lets you log carbs, boluses, spot trends, etc. and has a desktop version to download to. It does cost money though, and I found carrying a meter and a PDA was a little too much. The Tracker, like lg said, is a good one cause it is a combo of meter and PDA.

Depending on your meter you can possible find free software for your pc. I have a Lifescan Profile. I found the software, it was free, and then all had to do was buy the cable to connect the meter to the pc. That was about 25 bucks. I found it very motivating to actually see the bg's in print.
I downloaded the software for the One Touch Ultra Smart, before I had the cable to connect it to the computer, and you can manually enter your information. It was a lot of work though, so I bought the cable and it is much easier now.

Isn't there a meter that plugs right in to a PDA?

Ahh. I knew I'd seen a picture in an ad, I just couldn't remember which meter it was for. Thanks!

Good meter and a good software to keep the BS records as well as other perks. And it's free. Though you will also need to get a cable to connect your meter to your PC

I have been through a couple of PDA programs and found them all a bit iffy for one reason or another and will probably write my own at some point. Currently I use Glucopad 2.0 which is ok but has a few annoying glitches and in retrospect I'd probably not have paid for it. I am staggered that something as simple as a recording a few numbers seems beyond the wit of the existing developers and can only conclude that basically there is no money in it and so the market has a bunch of half-assed not quite good enough solutions.
The one exception is Diabetes Pilot mentioned above which looks pretty good but it only works with Palm and not with Pocket PC's like my iPAQ which counts it out for me.
