When you put in a square wave bolus say for 4 hours, are you also delivering the basal rate also. So are you delivering the square bolus+basal for the 4 hours?

Yes, nothing stops the basal rate unless you suspend a pump. Your basal rate changes like normal as needed whenever you run an extended bolus with it. It just adds the amounts together and gives that amount every 3 minutes.
