So far so good. I started carb counting last week and had much better control. Some things you kinda learn the hard way. Like, 1% milk doesn't like me. My BG jumped to over 200 from having it with cereal. Yikes! But all of a sudden, for the last four days, I have been struggling to get my BG over 100. It wants to run in the 70's and 80's. Backed off my Basel but it hasn't helped. My Boluses are pretty low. I take like, maybe, 10 bolus units a day. So I'm not sure whats going with that. My dietitian, Mini Med rep, Endo, and practitioner are absolutely amazed how fast I have adapted to not only the pump but to having diabetes in general. I was diagnosed in April. So I guess thats a good thing.

Strawberry Nut Crunch I believe. It's not the cereal because if I eat it with 2% I have no trouble at all. My Dietitian thought because 1% has little fat in it that might be whats causing the spike. But I don't think so as 1% has only 14 grams of carbs per 8 oz. But there is defiantly some thing thats in it thats causing the spike. And thats measuring 2 hours after breakfast. Just one of those things that make you go hmmmm I guess.

is it from kellog's?

I drink 2% milk sometimes to help me recover from a mild hypo.

Cereal makes my bg spike. I don't drink milk much so I'm not sure about the carbs in milk. I do know soy milk is low in carbs...

The only cereal I can eat without a spike in my BG is Kellog's Special K Protein Plus. I also use Hood's Carb Countdown 2% Milk.

The cereal isn't causing the spike.

The cereal isn't causing the spike.

I've learned is that many many variables can be at work here. Some mentioned are cereal, % of the milk, boluses, an basals. Things like site absorbtion rate, previous evening's excercise, your level of hydration, stress, and unknown infections plus probably many more factors can be at play here too. I rarely speak of absolutes. Switch back and forth a few more times to really build some evidence.
