My endo prescribed Vytorin, but I forgot whether he said it replaces both or one of the meds. I think both. anyone know?

Thanks.

I can't answer your question but I have taken Vytorin for about 3 months and it has worked miracles. I have great readings...I see the commercial and it says it treats the food side and the hereditary side, too. I hope it helps you...

Are you taking it for cholesterol and triglycerides?

Yes. I don't have the figures with me what my cholesterol was but it was high..seems it was over 200 and my triglycerides were high also. Now my cholesterol is 134, triglycerides 34, HDLC 76, LDL 51...And that is just since 1st of Aug.

Good for you! I'm looking forward to taking it! or the results, that is!

Vytorin is a combination of Zetia and Zocor. I don't know anything about Tricor, but the Vytorin will definitely replace the Zocor.

Zetia and Tricor are quite different. Zetia blocks absorption of dietary cholesterol in the gut. So it reduces LDL (and probably HDL too). Tricor is a fibrate and reduces triglycerides. Which, with tris of 34, you don't seem to need anymore.
