The evening news just talked about research using a contact lens to detect glucose levels in tears. Dots on the lens change color in reaction to rising glucose levels. The dot would be on one lens and you would learn to watch it. The university researching this are seeking a commercial partner. So ... several years on the horizon, but ... some day!

I heard about this from my Endo about 3 years ago and have never heard another word until today. At that time she said the outer ring of the lens would change colors to let you know if you were low , high, or ok. Not an exact number but it could really help I think. I can see my wife staring at my eye all the time!!!!!
