Just wondering how many of you take synthroid and when you take it. Also do you really need to take it on an empty stomach?

I take Levoxyl at the moment (another synthetic thyroid med) and before that Thyroxine (same stuff just what it is called in Australia).
I was told to take it half an hour before breakfast, which is ok as i take it when i wake up and then by the time i've showered etc, it is time to eat.
My dosage is a bit of a pain, I take 100mcg on Mondays, wednesdays and Fridays and 50mcg on all the other days.

I also take synthroid and found out by accident that you are supposed to take it an hour before eating, or 2 hours after a meal.

I take Synthyroid as well and I take it every morning. A word of advice. When you go to the pharmacy to fill your prescription for Synthyroid do not let them give you the generic because it truly is not the same. I found out the hard way. :(

I take mine at midnite with my Lantus shot.
Yes, take it on an empty stomach. I have a bottle of water on my dresser with my Levothyroxine, I pop one and drink the water before I head off to the shower. By the time I am done with that and dressed, about half an hour has passed so I can either take more meds or eat...in theory...without conflicting with that finicky Synthroid/Levothyroxine.
I take mine in the morning. Sometimes on an empty stomach, sometimes not. That makes no difference to me.
The ONLY thing I watch for is not taking a multi-vitamin with it. It's almost like the vitamin eats the Synthroid, lol. A few days like that and I am so low I can barely function. I now take my multi-vitamin at night.

Lately after I take my vitamins too I feel very nauseous, do you think its the Synthroid. I used to take vitamins all the time but now I can't because I feel like I will throw them up within about 30 minutes, does anybody else have this problem?
Synthroid is notorious for not competing well with any other foods or nutrients, hence the advice to take on an empty stomach. Even milk is generally forbidden to be the chaser for Synthroid.
HOWEVER, my new endo, who seems pretty knowledgeable about most things diabetes/hypothyroid, told me that for a patient on an "established" protocol, one who has been consistently taking their thyroid meds for at least 6 weeks, can take their Synthroid with whatever, just as long as the timing is consistent. I have NEVER read advice like that anywhere, so I continue to take mine on an empty stomach.

I take mine overnight when I get up to check my blood sugar. Usually around 2:00 in the morning.

Did anyone have anxiety while having a hypothyroid? On average 1 out 10 blood labs will show I have a slightly hypo thyroid. I know anxiety is usually a symptom of hyperthyroid. If anyone had anxiety prior to a synthoid please let us know.
