Does anyone know of a good therapist (specifically one that knows about type I diabetes) in the Metro Atlanta, GA area? I've been looking for one for some time now but really haven't had any luck.

Hi pinkytricia-
I'm looking for an "all purpose" therapist. HA! I need someone to talk to about diabtes and the ups and downs that go along with it. Also, it would be nice to speak to someone about "life in general." I"m in Atlanta and hope someone can recommend a good therapist. I've seen a few here, but no one that I really liked. I'm going to see my diabetes ed. team this week and will ask them as well.

Ohhhh.... I hope your diabetes ed. team helped you find what you were looking for..... Only thing I can say is get someone that you feel comfortable with or you won't be as open to their comments....

I'm a new Type 2 {Hey, that rhymes} so I'm not really any help... If you need to vent you came to the right place... There are quite a few people here that are T1 's and extremely knowledgeable.... Some have had the disease for many years....

Good Luck....
P.S. When ever your bg's are stable could you please.. eat a Georgia Peach for me.... I'm drooling for one right now.....LOL

If only I could remember the name of the psych that I was in a study for... He was in north Atlanta, near Doraville... I haven't lived there in over 10 years, so he's probably not even there anymore.

I'll ask my ex-husband if he knows anyone. I'm sure a sister or two of his are seeing therapists! LOL
