My numb spot on the side of my left thigh now feels like someone has put icy-hot on it at times. What is best to promote nerve healing?

Yes I know keeping the b/g at a constant good level.

I'M WORKING ON IT!

What products work on releiving this feeling and healing nerve damage?

Hi mageerobin I was diagnosed with polyneuropathy 2 years ago (wich means neuropathy in more than one limb)I was not so lucky the neuropathy I have is painful I have travaled far and wide for some proper treatment I now see a pain specialist who put me on pain medications and a new medication called 'LYRICA' and is great for neuropathy as for healing neuropathy I don't think you can heal the problem but you can control it with good blood sugars and proper medications hope this helps pebble!

You may want to look into Alpha Lopoic Acid (ALA). It is not a drug, but a supplement. It is my understanding that it is actively used by doctors in German for cases of diabetic neuropathy and used to some extent by physicians in the US for that purpose.
It's not dirt cheap, but neither is it too expensive. My own take on it is that it may be useful in the context of already having your blood glucose under control.
Other than taking 200mg per day, I have no personal interest in the product.

I have just read that the ALA you want is very specific as in R-ALA.

The R designation is a must without the S. They sell this R ALA on the internet and it is very cheap and is quite a bit different that the stuff GNC and Vitamin World Sells you. I read an article that was pretty convincing to explain that the stuff in the Vitamin Store is a waist of money and will do the opposite of what you want it to do.

PLain ALA is an Acronym for Ripp Off.

R - ALA is the stuff you want Mate.

I believe this is untrue, if true it would be a first in biology. ALA is racemic - meaning that there is a "right hand" and a "left hand" version. There are many racemic biological chemicals; often only one version, the right or the left is biologically active. The other isomer is biologically inactive (or only very mildly active).
Often both a racemic version (50% right, 50% left) and a single isomer version (100% right or left) is available. The difference is that you have to take twice as much of the racemic version as of the single isomer version to get the same effect. But you do get the same effect with the two types.
It is not the case that the racemic version does not work; it is just half as effective.
I have also seen the ads that say that the racemic ALA is not good or has a negative effect. BullS***! Just internet marketing.
The ALA supplement is rather a bulky capsule for it's dosage so were you planning to take a large amount there would be some advantage in getting the more compact R version. As to price, the pure R versions that I've seen have been more than twice as expensive as the racemic, so there is a price disadvantage to getting the single R version isomer. (Which is why the ads lie to you.)
