[FONT="Lucida Console"]I have joined this forum as I am interested in participating on the type 1.5 board. I was misdiagnosed as a type 2 in 1997. I did fine for the first year on meds and exercise, but then everything went haywire. Lost weight to the point family was worried about me, and A1c skyrocketed. I was doing everything right ... diet and exercise, etc. Put on 3 different medications, but nothing helped. Tests showed I was making practically no insulin and I was then diagnosed as a type 1.5, LADA as I fit all the criteria. I've been on insulin almost 7 years and my A1c's have consistently been in the 6s.

Hehehehe for some reason, most of the new posters never change this when they sign up. I am wondering if it is an option that doesn't show up when you sign up the first time. I don't remember anymore.

Suz is DEFINITELY not a male. Not when I met her anyhow. :girl:

For some reason, I haven't been able to get into my profile to edit and change my gender! LOL I just get error messages. Oh well. I'll keep trying.:stupido3:

I also was misdiagnosed. Hopefully you can take control now that they have properly diagnosed you.

If you can keep your A1C's in the 6's, who really cares' about the gender thing.

Gr8 Job!
