Hi Everyone,

Im so glad i came accross this site! Im 21 and was diagnosed with type1 diabetes when i was 16. I dont know anyone else who has diabetes so feel a bit lonely and I struggle to get good control of my diabetes so I am starting pump therapy, hopefully within the next month. I look forward to chatting with eveyone!

Hi HJ, welcome to DF!

YAY re the pump - I wish I could try one. Lots to learn but it sounds like they can work wonders for most people :)

This is a great place for us all - great people, and a mass of information. You are not alone! :)

Welcome!!!! You are among friends here. We all have the same in common. What pump are you getting? My endo wants me to go on the pump but I still a little scared to start the process. Beth

Hi HJCollins, this site is really great - I found it a month back - so many answers to so many questions so don't feel so alone. You sound similar to me, I'm 22 and I started a pump abt a month ago cos I couldn't get good BG control, can't say I've loving the pump that much yet but will give it a bit longer yet. Have you definately got funding for a pump? Nice to meet you!

Hi BLonde Kiddo, Yeah Ive definately got funding just waiting on a phone call from my nurse to say that the pumps arrived! Im a little unconfortable going on it but ill see how it goes. If its gna do the trick of helping my get my blood sugars under control and keeping me out of hospital then im all for it! I carnt remember exactly but im pretty sure its the minimed paradigum 512?!

Good luck on the pump and maybe during pump training you can meet other diabetics. I belong to a pump group and I love the people I have met in it so far. Although it's a group of all MM pumpers with me being the only Animas. I love being the minority :D

Hiya HJ, welcome aboard. You've joined the right forum. Plenty of advise and info on all aspects of diabetes here. I'm a diabetic for over 40 years and on the pump for 2.5yrs. My only regret is that I didn't have it from day 1. Oh, there's good fun here too. Enjoy

Welcome to our group~

I think we all struggle at time- you definitely aren't alone there... I'm sure there are many here who can relate to many things you have experienced.

Anyway, I hope you will stick around- this really is a great support network go have :five:.
