Hello to all! I just discovered this forum and am anxious to read posts and become familiar with the board. From what little I've read so far, it seems like some fantastic information is available here from some fantastic folks.
I live in Montana with my hubby (of 36 years). I work for the Police Dept (civilian employee). Hubs and I have two grown sons. We live with 4 dogs (furkids) two cats and two pet bunnies.
I was diagnosed with Type 2 approx. 4 yrs ago. My blood glucose levels are still way too high. I must get serious about eating right, exercising and getting those blood glucose levels down.
I'm hoping the information I receive here will assist me in this endeavor.
Well..! That's probably WAY more than you ever cared to know about a Nanner from Montaner! :-)
I'm glad to be here and look forward to "meeting" you all.

Hi Nanner, thought I'd jump in and welcome you. We (my wife and I) have only recently discovered this site, and joined.
My wife has been a type 1 for a long time, a pumper for several years. Nancy just started on a new pump, which is always a stressful time. I'm sure you'll find the same helpful feed back, and warm welcome we've received.
Comparing notes, opinions, and hearing words of support always helps. Good luck to you.

Thanks, Kimmy! I sure hope that insulin pump works out for you! One of our officers where I work is on the pump and he loves it. I do the injections....apridra w/meals and lantus at bedtime. Maybe someday they'll consider me for a pump. I hope so!
So very nice to meet you!

Hi Beth! Thanks! I'm sure I'll have lots of questions! Does Apidra and Lantus seem to be keeping your BG under control?

Go to www.healthsoftware.hazeleger.net. and get a free download of a software pack that will structure your BG control efforts. It provides charts for entering all kinds of diabetes related readings. It will even allow you to keep track of which fingers you use for a blood draw. This info can then be converted to graphs which establishes trend lines from rolling averages. I found that it structured me and gave me an immediate, concise feedback. I hope it helps.

Yep....that's my Gertrude! I have two pugs....Gertie and Uncle Charlie. Pugs are quite the little characters. I've had dogs all my life and have loved every one...but these pugsters are truly something else! We've had Gertrude since she was a wee one 7 years ago....and have had Uncle Charlie a year and 1/2...he's 7 yrs old too...he's a rescue.
Thanks for the welcome! I'm thoroughly enjoying DF. It's great!
