I have some supplies of Humalog (originally planned for my 508R but it was delayed) and is trying to work out a new regimen to include Humalog into my regular/NPH regimen (just love its rapid acting effect experienced during the 1mth 508R trial). I took Humalog during my breakfast and the rest stay the same as before (that means Humalog, actrapid/NPH, actrapid and NPH at breakfast, lunch, dinner and bedtime respectively). But the disaster begins. All this while (and I mean for the past 2 weeks), I could not keep my fasting morning sugar under 10mmol/L (which has been easy when I only have only my actrapid and insulatard).
Before I conclude that Humalog is the culprit, just to be fair, is there anyone out there encountering the same problem and would like to offer some words of advice?
I know Humalog and actrapid cannot be mixed in the same syringe. How about injecting Humalog and Actrapid separately into differect sites but at about the same time? Any ill effect?
