I am not on any medication for diabetes right now but wondered what the effect of the carbs/calories are if you are sick. (i.e. you eat normal breakfast but have upset stomach and throw up). I know this is gross...but do you then count those carbs/calories anyway? Or, after feeling a bit better ok to eat? Just another silly questiong from a newbie....Thanks. :coffee:

Being sick is a whole different animal. The stress can give you very high BGs without consuming anything. Test, test, test!

Testing is the key. And you need to give the insulin for what you eat when you eat it. Then if you happen to expel the food through the same input source, you have to find a way to get those carbs back in somehow in one manner or another. It's a huge game, and one that I truely don't like being in.
