So I keep a vial of Symlin at work in a refrigerator in my office. This way I don't have to worry about carting the stuff around.

But.

Apparently Symlin doesn't last anyway. The vial at work only gets use five or so times per week, plus with the recent Christmas break it sat for a bit.

After the new year and back to work, I kept on using it. And it looks fine.

But this past week or so I began noticing bruises. All on my belly. Thing about my belly is the only time I inject there is Symlin. At work. Otherwise I use my back side when at home.

So I am guessing the Symlin at the office went bad, probably because it takes a lot longer to use up a vial. I sure wish there was some way to know when this stuff needs tossing without hurting oneself. Who knows what I have been doing to myself this past week. Argh.

I am interested in taking symlin. I heard that it helps with weight loss and helps control BG. Does it really work?

I have been taking it for a full week now...I stay so nauseated I think that is what causes the weight loss:wink: Okay it has brought my post prandial readings way down...sometimes too low...I had a 40 yesterday and could hardly see. My mom who has come to live with us got me sugar really fast...I cut way back on my normal dose of my Humalog 75/25...this is helping so I will stand the nausea

I also keep a vial of Symlin at work. I've never seen one gone bad and I've kept it in the fridge for longer than 2 months. I still get the slight nausea and slower digestion so I know it is still working.

Do you recommend taking it? Can you take something like gravol with it?
