I am a member here, but i mostly read and get my answers from other people. I just had to ask, how weird is it when I was diagnosed on July 5, 2005, and my husband was just diagnosed on Jan 15, 2007? Are there a lot of Husband and wifes that have diabetes together?

Hi suec1958! I don't think that it's weird because Type 2 diabetes is EPIDEMIC! I think that it might have it's benefits though! You can exercise together, eat the same foods, and really empathize with eachother. :)

Yes, the first thing I did was take all the food he usually eats(sweets) out of the house, our doctor put us on the same meds, so we could help each other. We now exercize together every night, and eat about the same things now.

I was dx type I in March 2006 and my six year old was diagnosed December 2006. That, I think is odd in the same year.

No, not in my case. My husband always has low levels (sometimes he asks me to test him) eventhough he eats carbs and sugary stuff as if there was no tomorrow. He says he compensates for what I can`t have............ :banghead:
I hope he never develops diabetes.
