I've been testing 2 hours after my meal. Is this about right?

The advised time to test is 2 hrs after the START of the meal...sometimes we linger a long time over a meal, so notice when you START eating and count from there instead of 2 hrs after you finish.

I usually test 2 - 2-1/2 hours after eating.

I'm compulsive. I test ac (right before a meal) and 1 and 2 hours after the start of a meal. At 2 hours your blood glucose should be back to about the same place it was right before eating - but the 1 hour test will show how high the food you have eaten makes you go. I have learned a lot by testing this way - what foods to avoid, what foods are no trouble for me.

This is not correct. With a proper meal bolus, you bg should return to normal approximately 4 hours after eating.
With regards to the orginal question, I test 2 hours after and 4 hours after eating.

It is correct, for me at least. I take no meds except the rare dose of Prandin. I am diet and exercise controlled. My ac glucose and 2°pp glucose are almost always with 10 - 15 points of one another. I would say about 95% of the time. I do the 1°pp to determine how high pasta, potatoes, rice, bread, etc., raise my glucose.

With all due respect, if you are taking an insulin bolus, it IS NOT correct. Your bg should return to normal within 4-5 hours after eating

I never said it was for an insulin bolus - I said it works for me.
