caffeine can have an adverse affect on your heart and kidney and liver function, I had a friend that when he was trying to get private health insurance was denied because they said he was a severe alcholic. The guy doesn't drink though, the amounts of caffeine he was drinking was raising the enzymes being released by his kidneys and liver so much he was in the same shape as an alcholoic. Mind you he isn't diabetic, so for a diabetic with somewhat compromised renal function, it could be a problem. But then again how many are you drinking a day? any complications so far? how long have you been dx'd? juat a few questions and thoughts to think about.
BTW, welcome aboard!

Tash, Welcome to the Forums !!!:shakehand

I've also read that caffeine affects your BG's. so read more about it. I've cut down on my diet coke, to one or 2 a day. after I found out.
Now I drink more teas. Find alternatives.
& smaller sacrifices now will pay off later.
