Hi everyone,
My diabetes went undiagnosed, mainly my fault, for several years and I am now suffering the consequences ie neuropathy , ED etc. The usual pills don't work for the ED but a vacuum pump does. My problem is that orgasm has gradually become more intense until the sensation is now pure pain and most distressing. Has anyone come accross this as my diabetic team seem at a loss as how to help.

Someguy, Welcome to the Forums !!:hello:

How are your BG's? & how was your latest A1C?

I've read that neuropathy is reversible, by keeping your BG's near normal, don't give up. for the ED it'll take longer but is possible to reverse it.

Read the postings by MarkTN & T2Trucker, among the other, those are inspirational stories & the facts.

Yes I'm told that this reversable most of it. But you must intensely keep you BG inline.

They say R-Alpha Lipoic Acid taken along with Biotin helps.

I would do a google search on R-ALA see what the experts say.

High there...read your post with much interest since I'm suffering from the exact same problem as you - Erectile Dysfunction. Very frustrating. Especially after being able to lead a "normal" sex life and all of a sudden it's cut-off (pardon the pun :dong: :dong: :dong: ).

I was put on Tolbutamide in Jan, 2000 when dx'd with T2 and in October, 2001 the ED began. My gp sent me to a urologist and he prescribed penile injection's (don't know what it would be called there in the State's but here in Holland it's called: Androskat) which work. Although the actual injection can be a little painful but only once in awhile. With these injection's my erection will last up to +/- 3 hour's. This is when my wife goes absolutely NUT'S, but that's a different story!

However, over the last year, year and a half I to have been experiencing a painful sensation upon ejaculation. The pain does not come from within the penis but from way deep in and actually deep down in my back. So...back off to the urologist. He found that I have an enlarged prostate and that is one of the classic tale-tale signs. Painful sensation upon orgasm. He preferred not to prescribe medication, only as a last resort. He did say however, now get this, that the best way to combat an enlarged prostate is to make sure you have at least one ejaculation a day using the "self-service" method, if you know what I mean. It seems that having an ejaculation via sexual contact with your partner does not have the same effect on the prostate as having one using self-service. Now...you can get your partner to help you with this or you of course can do it yourself. (My wife loves to watch) That don't matter. As long as the ejaculation comes from masturbation. Well...since doing this once a day thing the pain as subsided considerably and according to the urologist the prostate is now a normal size again. So...the proof is in the pudding (again...sorry for the pun  ), so-to-speak.

So...my suggestion is to get yourself to your urologist, ask for penile injection's (you can get smaller diabetic needle's that are less painful), verify what I've said my urologist said to me about minimum one ejaculation a day via masturbation, buy yourself some KY Jelly, grease up the 'ole Madame Palm and her Five Daughter's and go for it. It works!

Hope this helps a bit and good luck.

Now that is extreemly interesting!! So far my GP has ruled out prostate problems but I shall take it up with her again when I see her in a day or two. I think my ladyfriend will be most interested! Many thanks, I shall keep the thread open and let you know what happens.:sheep:
