Found this website. Seems to be more thorough than any other instructions I have been able to find. What do you guys think? Or do any of you know of any better guidelines?

I just tried printing it and it came out in some foreign language. Tanya, how did you do it?

That range (up to 250) seems a bit extreme to me. I don't have the Pumping Insulin book in front of me, but if someone does please post what Walsh says the correct range to be in is.........

Otherwise, the instructions seemed fine.

The Pumping Insulin book says start the test when your blood sugar is 100-150 or 120-180 if you have hypo unawareness or a fear of lows. I also wondered about the 250.

I like the 100 - 150 better as well. I tried it last night and seem to have normal ranges. However, I had exercised last night around 6 pm. But I exercise a lot in the evenings. So I think I am going to do a profile with exercise and then one without. Then I could use two different profiles...love that about the pump.

How do you guys feel about getting lower than 100 (I got a 76 and an 84 during the night)?

These were my BGs...if anyone cares... ;)

8pm 129
10pm 137
12am 84
2am 76
4am 107
6am 119
8am 179 (after shower...bolused 1 unit)

Thinking I might raise my 10 pm to 12 am basal and lower my 12 am to 2 am basal. But only one change at a time. :)

I'll have to get out the good ole pumping insulin "bible" book.

I'm happy as long as they don't go under 72. :)

Thanks for the link to the worksheet. It looks pretty good. Here is another online reference for basal testing:

Hi Tanya, I tried printing again using the print button on the document page instead of the drop down print choice and it worked fine! One of them wierd things I guess
