I'm just curious as to if there are any Type 2's here that have an insulin pump? I'm a type 2, was diagnosed with Gestational diabetes in 1986, went away for awhile, then came back 10 years ago. I have tried everything under the sun to get my blood sugars under control, and have fought it the whole way. About a year ago I started thinking about an insulin pump, and my dr. thought it was a good idea, so we set out on the journey to get "the pump". It took us almost a year to get approval from the insurance company, because they felt that type 2's do not need insulin pumps. My endo finally convinced them that I did, and I will begin pumping in one week. I'm so excited, and terrified, at the same time. I can't wait, but of course am apprehensive also. Thanks for listening!

I too am a type 2 with an insluin pump. I was able to convince my GP to prescribe it for me. I don't know how I got along without it before. My sugars have never been so regulated. have not had a low since being on the pump since Nov, 06. I am low carbing it now trying to loose weight and it is great for this, if I skip a meal or eat late I never go low or high for that matter...ok so I am rambling...I can't say enough about my pump I love it!!!!!!
