We just got back from our "one day getaway". Didn't do too bad playing the slots, at least we did not lose very much. We had coupons for BOGO buffet, so it was really the cheapest way for us to eat. I had walked a lot more than I normally do, so was 63, when we went down to eat. I was still careful, ate baked fish and a few fried oysters (yummy), had a big salad with mostly greens and low carb dressing. I had "tastes" of a few dishes that looked interesting, such as a sausage and pepper dish (good), and stir fry veggies (not good), and carrot salad (so/so). No bread, pasta or potatoes. We both had cheese cake for dessert, mine sugarfree, which I thought was pretty good, until I tasted his regular slice...it was soooo good. I ate much more than I normally do, but it is hard not to at a buffet. Two hours later I was 143, 3 hours later 90! Woke to one of my lowest fasting numbers in weeks. This is much better than I do at home.
I know this is because I walked so much, but I was crippled by the time we went to our room at 9. I could barely get up and down from a chair, and could not walk at all without my cane. I was still in a lot of pain when I got up this morning, had trouble even walking to the car, and am not moving too good.

Sorry you're feeling sore and are having a hard time getting around. Get some rest, and hopefully you'll be back up and running in no time. You had some pretty good blood sugars during your outing. And you behaved yourself very nicely during the buffet too! Congrats! I have no will power when it comes to buffets, lol. Glad you had a good time. Take care!

Penny........sorry you have sore muscles today. If you're able to take some Ibuprofin, that should work. Sounds like you had a nice time on your getaway. You did great with your choices from the buffet.

OH..........did you win? LOL

A whole day of doing little more than sitting at the computer, has helped and my levels still seem to be pretty good. But, if I can endure the pain from all that walking, I should be able to walk more everyday, just have to make myself do it. I do think it helped keep my BS down, despite eating too much.
