is it just me, or is really hard to take the belt clip on and off. the vertical one is so hard to put on, and once its on, it doesnt seem to turn all the way to locked position, but comes up just short of the symbol. also when i am taking it off, i feel like its gonna snap or something. also the holster is really hard to pull the pump out of too...

I don't know about the belt thing, but I have noticed when playing with the holster and pump, that it is a very tight fit. I figured it was supposed to be that way for better security, so that the pump wouldn't come out of it unless you wanted it to come out. I'm not sure.

Yeah, I just pulled and wiggled it out, and it came out, but you're right, it's hard to get it out.

You will get better at pulling it out. I had trouble at first. It is just a feel that you get. I put my hand over the whole thing. My index finger is on the side opposite of the where the reservoir tube comes out. My thumb is on top of the holder my middle finger is on the bottom. I just gently squeeze with my thumb and middle finger and push it out with my index finger. It pops right out with a little effort. My pump trainer gave me this little tip and it works great. Then just snap it right back in. I like the clip.

Hey Minimed Pumper- just curious- why did you change from an Animas pump to a Minimed pump? Maybe I missed that post!

Why are you taking the belt clip on and off? Once you put it on, it can just stay on. I have had the belt clip on since I got my pump and never removed it. I didn't like the holster clip as it stuck out too far.

I have to take mine out of the clip when I go to the endo. I'm assuming they can't download data with the clip on. I didn't ask. :stupido3:
If the vertical belt clip is on properly, you will feel a click when you turn the little lock thingy. I used to use a coin to turn it because it was very stiff, but it loosens up after a while.
I use the holster mostly, unless I need something lower in profile. Gordon's method of getting the pump out of the holster is very similar to how I do it and, like the belt clip, it does loosen up a little with use (but not so much that it's ever going to fall out!).

I had no problem putting the clip on and locking it..............but............when my pump died two weeks ago and I had to take it off, I had a very hard time with it. I thought for sure it was going to snap.

I use the belt clip because it is smaller, lighter and sticks out less. While sometimes it does stick a bit I find that if I push open the clip before I start to pull up it works pretty well. I leave the clip on most times during the day but take it off at night because I use the leg pouch to sleep with the pump.

I recently got the waist band thingy to wear at home in the evenings, thought that looked comfy. Just 6 more days till I start pumping! :five:

I've used only the belt clip. The holster is just too big and awkward. Plus the clip blends in well with my cell phone when I'm at the office. I use the MM722. The clip is a tight fit, but the lock should give you a click when locked as another reply said. I used to use a coin but now I can lock it with my fingernail. I've also pulled the pump out of the clip with the clip still locked (accidentally of course). No damage to the pump or clip yet. I've also popped the locking mechanism off the clip. Just snapped it back in and it still works fine.
If you have one of the MM pumps with wireless download (7xx) you shouldn't need to remove the clip. I never have. And it works fine.

the thing is on all the videos and pictures you see people wearing it horizontal, as if there was no belt clip, but when i saw it in person the first time, it wasnt like that at all:dong:

I haven't had any problems taking it on or off. Are you sure it's on all the way and it's going the right way?

How many clips did you get with your pump, one or two? You probably don't have the holster clip.
If I remember right in the photo the pump is clipped in the belt loop to sit horizontal.

I don't like the holster much either. I leave the smaller clip on my pump all the time. The only time I did have to take it off was when I called Minimed and they asked for the serial number. I gave them the number that appears on the main screen, but the guy I spoke to said I was missing some numbers so I had to remove the clip to see the whole serial number on the back of the pump. It is hard to get it off/on so I just leave it on. I used the holster for a few days once before deciding it wasn't very good. The only reason why I'd use it is if I was wearing pants with no pockets, and had to clip it to my belt. The smaller clip is uncomfortable if it's clipped too high (pokes me in the side) but the holster lets you put it horizontally.
